If the Sabbath is not regulated by the Moon

 

It genuinely amazes me when someone says there is no proof in Scripture or the historical record that the original Sabbath was observed by the phases of the moon. Most of the time, this is a statement made by someone who has really not studied the issue thoroughly. If you wish to maintain that the Rabbinical Sabbath is the only valid interpretation; I respectfully present a list of 21 categories of Scripture you must ignore, disregard or spiritualize away. This is not an exhaustive list…

1. Leviticus 23:1-3 says the Sabbath is the first of the Mo’edim (feasts-Strong’s H#4150), so you can ignore Genesis 1:14 (heavenly luminaries are for Mo’edim), and Psalms 104:19 (moon for Mo’edim).

2. If you think the Sabbath is NOT a Mo’ed, then ignore all of the following passages of Scripture:
Numbers 15:3, I Chronicles 23:31, II Chronicles 2:4, II Chronicles 8:13, II Chronicles 31:3, Ezra 3:5, Nehemiah 10:33-34, Ezekiel 45:17, and Hosea 2:11.

3. Ignore that the Exodus was on Sabbath, the 15th of Abib (Numbers 33:3, Deuteronomy 5:12-15, Psalm 81:4-6).

4. Please disregard as a coincidence that the 8th day of the same month is called a set time or Mo’ed in Hebrew (Exodus 9:5).

5. Ignore that the 15th day of the second month was also the Sabbath (Exodus 16:1). Manna fell for 6 days after the 15th. They gathered twice as much on the 6th day (the 21st day of the month, 15 + 6 = 21) because the following day was the Sabbath. If the 22nd was the Sabbath, so was the 15th.

6. Disregard the fact that on the 15th day of the third month Israel departed from “Rephidim” which means rest (Exodus 19:2), inferring that the 15th day of the month for three consecutive months has been a weekly Sabbath, which cannot happen with the pagan/papal Gregorian calendar. The Gregorian can produce a weekly Sabbath for TWO consecutive months IF a February of a non-leap year is the first month (and assuming that the 15th of February just happens to be a Satyrday). February did not exist 4,000 years ago.
Point to Ponder: A calendar tells you when to worship. WHEN you worship tells heaven and the on looking universe WHO you worship. It’s that serious! The Gregorian calendar is only a little over 420 years old and came into existence at the hand of a Jesuit astronomer and Pope Gregory XIII.

7. Normally, I like 2-3 witnesses (texts) in order to prove a doctrine, but I will lower that standard to even ONE passage in Scripture that says that Satyrday is the Sabbath. When you cannot find one, please ignore that as evidence.

8. Please disregard the fact that the daily sacrifices of Numbers chapters 28-29 are offered in addition to the sacrifices of the weekly Sabbath and annual feasts, and that the monthly offering is offered in addition on Yom Teruah (Feast of Trumpets), the first day of the seventh month. But the Sabbath offering is never offered if it “just happens” to fall on one of the feast days. There are no coincidences in Scripture.

9. Ignore that Numbers 29:12-35 shows eight days where the first and last (15th and 22nd) are
Sabbaths. There is no provision for a Sabbath to “just happen to fall in the middle somewhere”
because the Sabbaths are fixed, they fall on the same days each month.

10. Ignore how Exodus 40 through Leviticus 8 describes the seven days of consecration for Aaron and his sons (starting on Rosh Chodesh—the new moon or first day of the month) without the intervention of a Sabbath, and how the Sabbath fell on the 8th, the day AFTER the 7 day consecration. This seven day stretch was a new moon and 6 work days if you’re counting.

11. Try to spiritualize away the battle of Jericho (Joshua 6:1-16), and how every day for seven days, Israel dressed for battle, carried every weapon at their disposal AND carried the Ark of the Covenant into this battle. Which begs the question: Which day of this 7 day battle was the Sabbath?
Point to Ponder: For 40 years, YHVH taught Israel how to keep the Sabbath. Are we to believe that His first instructions after entering the land was to break the Sabbath by engaging in battle? Come now, let us reason together. The Book of Jasher, twice mentioned in Scripture, gives an account of this battle adding only one small detail. This 7 day battle began on a new moon day (Day 1). Day one is followed by six working days (2-7). The first Sabbath of each month is the 8th day of the month. Israel marched around Jericho for 7 consecutive days (1-7) and did not break the Sabbath, as they observed the Creation Calendar…

12. Please disregard the dozen times in the Old Testament that Rosh Chodesh and the weekly Sabbath are uttered in the same breath, especially those which show a connection between them (Amos 8:5, II Kings 4:23, etc. See #2)

13. Try to spiritualize away the fact that new moon days are always excluded from the work days and Sabbaths (Ezekiel 46:1-3, Isaiah 66:23, and Amos 8:5). New moon day is a 3rd category of day. It is the first day of the month, but not a day of the week, which consists of 6 work days and a Sabbath.
Point to Ponder: Ever wondered why the new moon can now fall on any day of the month? Answer: “In 46 B.C., Julius Caesar asked astronomer Sosigenes to suggest ways to improve the calendar. Acting on Sosigenes suggestions, Caesar ordered the Romans to disregard the moon in calculating their calendars.” World Book Encyclopedia, Vol. 3, p. 28.

14. Ignore the total lack of postponement rules in the Torah dealing with the inevitable conflicts
between Satyrday and YHVH’s other appointed times—and be thankful that Hillel II, a Jewish priest, added them for you, to “repair” what YHVH had ordained.

15. Ignore the counting of the Omer given in Leviticus 23:15-16, and instead of counting it
exclusively as commanded, (to count seven Sabbaths complete, then count 50 days) change it to
inclusive to “make it work” using the Gregorian calendar (49 + 1).

16. Please disregard the fact that David only set 24 courses of Temple service (I Chronicles 23-24), which of course works fine with 48 week lunar-based years, but self-destructs if the weeks are detached from the months, resulting in 18 days with no Temple service. There are Temple services on these 18 days. They are new moon days, see #13.

17. Don’t forget to ignore that all 4 Gospel writers call the 16th day of the month the first day of the week, indicating that the 15th was the Sabbath. (Matthew 28:1, Mark 16:2, Luke 24:1, John 20:1, 19). The 15th of Abib was a high Sabbath (weekly and annual Sabbath) EVERY year.

18. Disregard Lucifer’s boast (Isaiah 14:13) that he will sit on the “mount of the congregation,” (this word “congregation” is Mo’edim again). Satan is claiming his authority over the calendar to create appointed times contrary to YHVH’s.

19. Spiritualize away Amos’ prophecy that Israel would worship “Chiun (Saturn) the star god you made for yourselves” Amos 5:26.

20. Consider it purely coincidence that every weekly Sabbath in the Scripture which can be clearly date-identified, is on the 8th-15th-22nd-29th days of the Chodesh (month) without a single exception. Even history records a lunar regulated Sabbath…

21. Also disregard the total lack of Scriptures telling us to observe quarterly Sabbaths, every 91 days, or other holidays based on Egyptian or Babylonian calendars. It is said that there are consecutive 30 day months and after three months (90 days) there is an extra Sabbath added (day 91). There is no reason to return to the bondage of Egypt or the confusion of Babylon, please see Isaiah 8:20. There is also no Scriptural evidence for there to be 5-6 un-numbered days at the end of the year (days that do not count against the current year). It is said by some that the year is 360 days long and since the solar is longer than this by 5.25 days, that these days are ignored, not reckoned—a partial week at the end of the year. Please ignore the total lack of evidence for this in Scripture. There you have it, a list (or lack) of Scriptures to ignore. If you are not yet convinced to get off the Gregorian Express, at the very least, admit that the original Sabbath, based on the cycles of the moon, is a valid interpretation of Scripture, and do not condemn your brethren who are led to observe it.

We read of what Yahuwah was going to do the the Messiah on the old testament:

Isaiah 7
14 Therefore Yahuwah Himself will give you a sign: Listen carefully, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and she will call his name Immanuel (Elohim with us). 15 He will eat curds and honey when he knows enough to refuse evil and choose good. 16 For before the child will know enough to refuse evil and choose good, the land (Canaan) whose two kings you dread will be deserted [both Ephraim and Aram].

And we see this take place in Matthew 1

20 But after he had considered this, an angel of Yahuwah appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Yoseph, descendant of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Rauch haKodesh. 21 She will give birth to a Son, and you shall name Him Yahushua (Yahuwah is salvation), for He will save His people from their sins.” 22 All this happened in order to fulfill what Yahuwah had spoken through the prophet [Isaiah]: 23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child and give birth to a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel”—which, when translated, means, “Elohim with us.”

Yes. He was to die. He was to be despised and rejected by men and be wounded for our transgressions (Genesis 3:15) and was to be led like a lamb to the slaughter.

Isaiah 53

1 Who has believed [confidently trusted in, relied on, and adhered to] our message [of salvation]?
And to whom [if not us] has the arm and infinite power of Yahuwah been revealed?

2 For He [the Servant of Yahuwah] grew up before Him like a tender shoot (plant),
And like a root out of dry ground;
He has no stately form or majestic splendor
That we would look at Him,
Nor [handsome] appearance that we would be attracted to Him.

3 He was despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and pain and acquainted with grief;
And like One from whom men hide their faces
He was despised, and we did not appreciate His worth or esteem Him.

4 But [in fact] He has borne our griefs,
And He has carried our sorrows and pains;
Yet we [ignorantly] assumed that He was stricken,
Struck down by Yahuwah and degraded and humiliated [by Him].

5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing];
The punishment [required] for our well-being fell on Him,
And by His stripes (wounds) we are healed.

6 All of us like sheep have gone astray,
We have turned, each one, to his own way;
But Yahuwah has caused the wickedness of us all [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing]
To fall on Him [instead of us].

7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
Yet He did not open His mouth [to complain or defend Himself];
Like a lamb that is led to the slaughter,
And like a sheep that is silent before her shearers,
So He did not open His mouth.

8 After oppression and judgment He was taken away;
And as for His generation [His contemporaries], who [among them] concerned himself with the fact
That He was cut off from the land of the living [by His death]
For the transgression of my people, to whom the stroke [of death] was due?

9 His grave was assigned with the wicked,
But He was with a rich man in His death,
Because He had done no violence,
Nor was there any deceit in His mouth.

10 Yet Yahuwah was willing
To crush Him, causing Him to suffer;
If He would give Himself as a guilt offering [an atonement for sin],
He shall see His [spiritual] offspring,
He shall prolong His days,
And the will (good pleasure) of Yahuwah shall succeed and prosper in His hand.

11 As a result of the anguish of His soul,
He shall see it and be satisfied;
By His knowledge [of what He has accomplished] the Righteous One,
My Servant, shall justify the many [making them righteous—upright before Yahuwah, in right standing with Him],
For He shall bear [the responsibility for] their sins.

12 Therefore, I will divide and give Him a portion with the great [kings and rulers],
And He shall divide the spoils with the mighty,
Because He [willingly] poured out His life to death,
And was counted among the transgressors;
Yet He Himself bore and took away the sin of many,
And interceded [with the Father] for the transgressors.

And there is the promise of the Messiah who died for you and I that we may have eternal life.

A misunderstood scripture Matthew 12

38 Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to Him, “Teacher, we want to see a sign (attesting miracle) from You [proving that You are what You claim to be].”
39 But He replied and said to them, “An evil and adulterous generation [that is morally unfaithful to God] craves and demands a [miraculous] sign; but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah;

Who was this sign given to?
Scripture tells us that this sign would be given to an evil and adulterous generation.

Adultery is when one has sexual intercourse between a married person and a person who is not their spouse. It results in unfaithfulness between the person they are married to and breaks the covenant with that person.

This is who this sign is given to. It is not the sign which is given to those who follow the commandments of Yahuwah, but the those who are they who are the adulterers.  Yahuwah knew what He was saying here for this sign would be used by those who commit this adultery.

The verse tells us that there would be no miraculous sign given to those who seek a sign, but the sign of the prophet Jonah.  What was the sign of the prophet Jonah and why does scripture say it is not miraculous?  The answer is due to where the sign is from.

40 for just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the sea monster, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Jonah was persecuted in the belly of the whale for three days and three nights. Jonah was not dead. He was alive, but it was during this time he was being persecuted.

In scripture Jerusalem is considered to be the heart of the earth. We read this in the following scriptures:

For Elohim is my sovereign for old, working deliverance from the midst of the earth.

to take plunder and to take body, to stretch out your hand against the waste places that are inhabited, and against a people gathered from the nations, acquiring livestock and goods, who dwell in the midst of the earth.

Yahushua was to be in Yahrushalom and be persecuted by those round about him. He would say, “My Eloah, My Eloah, why has thou forsaken me?”

Jonah 2

Then Jonah prayed to Yahuwah his Elohim from the stomach of the fish, and said,

“I called out of my trouble and distress to Yahuwah,
And He answered me;
Out of the belly of Sheol I cried for help,
And You heard my voice.
“For You cast me into the deep,
Into the [deep] heart of the seas,
And the currents surrounded and engulfed me;
All Your breakers and billowing waves passed over me.

“Then I said, ‘I have been cast out of Your sight.
Nevertheless I will look again toward Your holy temple.’
“The waters surrounded me, to the point of death.
The great deep engulfed me,
Seaweed was wrapped around my head.

In the same way Yahushua was cast into the deep, Jonah asked why He had been cast out of the sight of Yahuwah.

Matthew 27
46 About the ninth hour Yahushua cried out with a loud [agonized] voice, [j]Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, My El, My El, why have You forsaken Me?”

It is in Psalms 22 we read these words repeated:

1 My El, my El, why have You forsaken me?
Why are You so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning?
O my Elohim, I call out by day, but You do not answer;
And by night, but I find no rest nor quiet.

The waters which surround Jonah represent the false doctrines of this world. They engulf us to the point of death. The wrap around our heads as seaweed that we might not see the truth, but instead view only the seaweed – the doctrines and teachings – of the oceans – the nations.

In the same way Yahushua was persecuted. He was not presecuted after He died. He was persecuted to the point of death. Yahushua, the innocent lamb, paid the price for our sins by being persecuted as an innocent lamb was sacrificed.

It is not that Yahuwah wanted a physical sacrifice. It was that Yahuwah wanted our spiritual sacrifice as represented in His death. He wants us to love Him, and this love is shown through our dedication to Him – our sacrifice of showing Him our love by not doing just as we want, but doing as He wants. This is the sacrfice that He desires.

What parent does not sacrifice time for their child? We do it because we love them Yahushuah sacrifices things for us, giving us the things which we desire. We are told to walk as He walked. By providing our love to Him, we also sacrifice to Him, by doing the things which He desires. This is a circle of love. His love points to us and our live points to Him.

In this way Yahuwah brings us out of the pit of death, as He did for Yahushua after He paid the price. Jonah did not die. But was provided with a second chance because of Yahuwah’s love for Him. Jonah was with Sin. Yahushua was without.

The earth with its bars closed behind me [bolting me in] forever,
Yet You have brought up my life from the pit (death), O Yahuwah my Elohim.
“When my soul was fainting within me,
I remembered Yahuwah,
And my prayer came to You,
Into Your holy temple.

As the sign was given to those who are the adulterers, they also have the opportunity to turn from their ways and to follow Him.

8  “Those who regard and follow worthless idols
Turn away from their [living source of] mercy and lovingkindness.
“But [as for me], I will sacrifice to You
With the voice of thanksgiving;
I shall pay that which I have vowed.
Salvation is from Yahuwah!”

10 So Yahuwah commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah up onto the dry land.

Those saved will judge this generation as they repented at the preaching of Jonah.

The men of Nineveh will stand up
[as witnesses] at the judgment against this generation, and will condemn it because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and now, something greater than Jonah is here.

So what was the reasoning that Yahushua said these things? Was it to confuse the people? Divide them perhaps with some saying He rose upon the third day and others saying He rose upon the third night?

The purpose of this was to show those who are following the beast that this is what they were doing. It was to divide those who followed Him from those who do not. Those who do not follow him, the wicked and adulterous generation would not interpret the sign correctly, but rather twist it for themself.

Mark 4:26-29
26 Then He said, “The kingdom of Yahuwah is like a man who throws seed on the ground; 27 and he goes to bed at night and gets up every day, and [in the meantime] the seed sprouts and grows; how [it does this], he does not know. 28 The earth produces crops by itself; first the blade, then the head [of grain], then the mature grain in the head. 29 But when the crop ripens, the immediately puts in the sickle [to reap], because [the time for] the harvest has come.”

Well I was looking at some things today which I had not seen before in this verse and thought I might share it with others.

I was taken to to word sickle – the part which reaps in the harvest. Yahuwah tells us in this verse of a harvest time. I was interested to know if perhaps a sign such as this is in the heavens and noted that at the time which the star sign Leo is visible, there is a sickle in the sky. I found it interesting that the sign is in the system Leo – the Lion which scripture relates as Yahuwah. The Sickle is actually the the very front part of Leo. around the head.

The verse says that it is the time to reap – this sign, which matches other signs occurs in the seventh month in the scriptures – around the 23rd of September 2017. But thus part of the sign is always there.

Three and a half scriptural years later would bring us to the time of harvest around mid March to April (upon the gregorian calendar) in 2021 (1260 – 1290 days). This seems to line up with the first and second Passovers that year. The time for harvest?

The Appointed times all were to attend

Exodus 23

14 “Three times a year you shall celebrate a feast [dedicated] to Me. 15 You shall observe the Appointed time of Unleavened Bread; for seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, at the appointed time in the month of Abib, for in it you came out of Egypt.

No one shall appear before Me empty-handed [but you shall bring sacrificial offerings].

16 Also [you shall observe] the Appointed time of Harvest  (First Fruits), acknowledging the first fruits of your labor, of what you sow in the field.

And [third] the Appointed time of Ingathering (Booths or Tabernacles) at the end of the year when you gather in [the fruit of] your labors from the field.

17 Three times a year all your males shall appear before Yahuwah your Elohim.

18 “You shall not offer the blood of My sacrifice with leavened bread; and the fat of My feast is not to be left overnight until morning. (Passover)

19 “You shall bring the choice first fruits of your ground into the house of Yahuwah your Elohim. (First fruits)

“You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk.
(A young goat is someone new to the faith and milk is the word).

His promise:
20 “Behold, I am going to send an Angel before you to keep and guard you on the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared. 21 Be on your guard before Him, listen to and obey His voice; do not be rebellious toward Him or provoke Him, for He will not pardon your transgression, since My Name (authority) is in Him. (Yahushua).

22 But if you will indeed listen to and truly obey His voice and do everything that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries. 23 When My Angel goes before you and brings you to [the land of] the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Canaanite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, I will reject them and completely destroy them. 24 You shall not bow down to worship their gods, nor serve them, nor do [anything] in accordance with their practices. You shall completely overthrow them and break down their [sacred] pillars and images [of pagan worship].

25 You shall serve [only] Yahuwah your Elohim, and He shall bless your bread and water. I will also remove sickness from among you. 26 No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days. 27 I will send My terror ahead of you, and I will throw into confusion all the people among whom you come, and I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you [in flight].

28 I will send hornets ahead of you which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite before you. 29 I will not drive them out before you in a single year, so that the land does not become desolate [due to lack of attention] and the [wild] animals of the field do not become too numerous for you. 30 I will drive them out before you little by little, until you have increased and are strong enough to take possession of the land. 31 I will establish your borders from the Red Sea to the Sea of the Philistines (the Mediterranean), and from the wilderness to the River Euphrates; for I will hand over the residents of the land to you, and you shall drive them out before you. 32 You shall not make a covenant with them or with their gods. 33 They shall not live in your land, because they will make you sin against Me; for if you serve their gods, it is certain to be a trap for you [resulting in judgment].”

Deuteronomy 16

16 “Observe the month of Abib and celebrate the Passover to Yahuwah your Elohim, for in the month of Abib Yahuwah your Elohim brought you out of Egypt by night. You shall sacrifice the Passover [lamb] toYahuwah your Elohim from the flock or the herd, in the place where Yahuwah chooses to establish His Name (Presence).

You shall not eat leavened bread with it; instead, for seven days you shall eat the Passover with unleavened bread, the bread of affliction (for you left the land of Egypt in haste); [do this] so that all the days of your life you may remember [thoughtfully] the day when you came out of the land of Egypt. For seven days no leaven shall be seen with you in all your territory, and none of the meat which you sacrificed the evening of the first day shall remain overnight until morning. You are not allowed to sacrifice the Passover [lamb] in any of your cities which Yahuwah your Elohimis giving you; but at the place where Yahuwah your Elohim chooses to establish His Name (Presence), you shall sacrifice the Passover [lamb] in the evening at sunset, at the time that you came out of Egypt. You shall cook and eat it in the place which Yahuwah your Elohim chooses. In the morning you are to return to your tents. For six days you shall eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day there shall be a celebration to Yahuwah your Elohim; so you shall do no work [on that day].

The Feast of Weeks

“You shall count seven Sabbaths for yourself; you shall begin to count seven Sabbaths from the time you first put the sickle to the standing grain. 10 Then you shall celebrate the Appointed time of Sabbath to Yahuwah your Elohim with a tribute of a freewill offering from your hand, which you shall give [to Him] just as Yahuwah your Elohim blesses you; 11 and you shall rejoice before Yahuwah your Elohim, you and your son and your daughter and your male and female servants and the Levite who is within your [city] gates, and the stranger and the orphan and the widow who are among you, at the place where Yahuwah your Elohim chooses to establish His Name (Presence).12 You shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and you shall be careful to obey these statutes.

13 “You shall celebrate the Appointed time of Booths (Tabernacles) seven days, when you have gathered in [the grain] from your threshing floor and [the wine] from your wine vat. 14 You shall rejoice in your appointed time, you and your son and your daughter and your male and female servants and the Levite and the stranger and the orphan and the widow who are within your city. 15 Seven days you shall celebrate the appointed time to Yahuwah your Elohim in the place which Yahuwah chooses, because Yahuwah your Elohim will bless you in all your produce and in all the work of your hands, so that you will be altogether joyful.

16 “Three times a year all your males shall appear before Yahuwah your Elohim in the place which He chooses, at the appointed time of Unleavened Bread (Passover) and at the Appointed time of Sabbaths (Pentecost) and at the Appointed time of Booths (Tabernacles), and they shall not appear before Yahuwah empty-handed. 17 Every man shall give as he is able, in accordance with the blessing which Yahuwah your Elohim has given you.

18 “You shall appoint judges and officers in all your cities (gates) which Yahuwah your Elohim is giving you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment. 19 You shall not distort justice; you shall not be partial, and you shall not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and perverts the words of the righteous. 20 You shall pursue justice, and only justice [that which is uncompromisingly righteous], so that you may live and take possession of the land which Yahuwah your Elohim is giving you.

21 “You shall not plant for yourself an Asherah of any kind of tree or wood beside the altar of Yahuwah your Elohim, which you shall make. 22 You shall not set up for yourself a sacred pillar which Yahuwah your Elohim hates.

 

The Barley Sheaf and Crossing the Sea on Abib 23

The crossing of the Sea on the way out of Egypt is often associated with the barley wave sheaf, because it’s believed by many that the date Moses led the people across the Sea, was the “day after the Sabbath” that YHUH was referring to when He commanded Israel to wave the barley sheaf in Leviticus 23. For this reason, MOST who believe this will claim Israel crossed the Sea on Abib 16, In this article, we will examine the evidence of sacred, inspired writings that exalt the name of YHUH, exalt the Torah of Moses, and prophesy of Yahusha HaMashiach.

Concerning the timing they left Egypt, Numbers 33 and Deuteronomy 16:1 inform us the date and time of day. Remember as you read these verses and study the sequence of events, that a date/day begins in the morning:

Observe the month of Abib, and keep the passover unto YHUH thy Aluhym: for in the month of Abib YHUH thy Aluhym brought thee forth out of Egypt by night. Deut. 16:1

And they departed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the morrow after the passover the children of Israel went out with an high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians. Numbers 33:3

Because Exodus 19:1 says they left EGYPT two months before their arrival at the Mount, this is another reason many believe this must mean they crossed the sea on the 16th of the 1st month, the morning after they left Rameses. I suggest that Exodus 19:1 is not saying they crossed the Sea two months before, but that they began their journey out of Egypt two months before arriving at Sinai. They left Rameses on the 15th, at night, in agreement with Numbers 33.

The belief that the sheaf was waved on the 16th ties in with the date they believe Israel crossed the Sea. I, too, believe the crossing of the sea was at the timing of the waving of the sheaf. However, I understand this date to have occurred a week later than the date most have come to. I’m going to show where scripture says they crossed the Sea a week after the traditional date.

I, also, was taught the Israelites crossed the sea on the 16th, which is also when I was taught the sheaf was waved. However, I started to wonder how that date could be possible for the Sea crossing in the light of the scriptures which say that when they left Rameses on the 15th (Num 33:3), they camped at Sukkot (Num 33:5).

The Israelites left Rameses and camped at Sukkoth. Numbers 33:5

The Book of Jasher 81:5 says they arrived at Sukkot on the 15th.

And the children of Israel traveled from Egypt and from Goshen and from Rameses, and encamped in Succoth on the fifteenth day of the first month. Jasher 81:5 (I believe they arrived at night, not during the Sabbath portion of the day. Deut 16:1 and Num. 33 say he brought them out by night, and on the 15th, so this did not break the commandment to keep the Sabbath day kadosh.)

Then they left Sukkot and camped at Etham on the edge of the wilderness (Num 33:5-6, Exodus 13:20, and Jasher 81:7).

They left Sukkoth and camped at Etham, on the edge of the desert. Numbers 33:6

And they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness. Exodus 13:20
And the Egyptians buried all their first born whom Ha Adon had smitten, and all the Egyptians buried their slain for three days. And the children of Israel traveled from Succoth and encamped in Ethom, at the end of the wilderness. Jasher 81:6-7

According to Jasher 81:8-11, THREE DAYS LATER, after they completed burying their dead, the Egyptians decided to find out why Israel had not returned, when they had only asked to leave for three days to celebrate a feast unto YHUH.
And on the third day after the Egyptians had buried their first born, many men rose up from Egypt and went after Israel to make them return to Egypt, for they repented that they had sent the Israelites away from their servitude. And one man said to his neighbor, Surely Moses and Aaron spoke to Pharaoh, saying, We will go a three days’ journey in the wilderness and sacrifice to the YHUH our Aluhym. Now therefore let us rise up early in the morning and cause them to return, and it shall be that if they return with us to Egypt to their masters, then shall we know that there is faith in them, but if they will not return, then will we fight with them, and make them come back with great power and a strong hand. And all the nobles of Pharaoh rose up in the morning, and with them about seven hundred thousand men, and they went forth from Egypt on that day, and came to the place where the children of Israel were. Jasher 81:8-11
Jasher 81:10 says the next morning (this would have been 4 days later) they went to ask Israel why they had not yet returned to their work in Egypt. Jasher 81:12 states that when the Egyptians found the Israelites, they were found feasting before Pi-hahiroth.

And all the Egyptians saw and behold Moses and Aaron and all the children of Israel were sitting before Pi-hahiroth, eating and drinking and celebrating the feast of YHUH. Jasher 81:12

Exodus 14:2 and Num 33:7 confirm Pi-hahiroth was the next camping spot BEFORE crossing the sea (see Num 33:1-8).

Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against Baalzephon: before it shall ye encamp by the sea. Exodus 14:2

They left Etham, turned back to Pi Hahiroth, to the east of Baal Zephon, and camped near Migdol. Numbers 33:7

Jasher 81:14 states that by the time the Egyptians find Israel at this spot, it’s now been 5 days since they left, and they have still to cross the sea.
And all the Egyptians said to the children of Israel, Surely you said, We will go a journey for three days in the wilderness and sacrifice to our Aluhym and return. Now therefore this day makes five days since you went, why do you not return to your masters? Jasher 81:13-14
Jasher 81:15 says Moses and Aaron informed the Egyptians that they would not be returning to Egypt.

And Moses and Aaron answered them, saying, Because YHUH our Aluhym has testified in us, saying, “You shall no more return to Egypt, but we will betake ourselves to a land flowing with milk and honey,” as YHUH our Aluhym had sworn to our ancestors to give to us. Jasher 81:15

Jasher 81 goes on to say that Israel fought with the Egyptians, and gave them a beating, and the Egyptians returned to tell Pharaoh the Israelites were not going to return.
And when the nobles of Egypt saw that the children of Israel did not hearken to them, to return to Egypt, they girded themselves to fight with Israel. And YHUH strengthened the hearts of the children of Israel over the Egyptians, that they gave them a severe beating, and the battle was sore upon the Egyptians, and all the Egyptians fled from before the children of Israel, for many of them perished by the hand of Israel. And the nobles of Pharaoh went to Egypt and told Pharaoh, saying, the children of Israel have fled, and will no more return to Egypt, and in this manner did Moses and Aaron speak to us. Jasher 81:16-18
This all took some time. Though the Bible does not mention the fighting between them, it does mention Pharaoh was informed that Israel had no plans to return to Egypt in Exodus 14:5.

And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us? Exodus 14:5

So when Pharaoh’s army arrives, Israel is still camped at Pi-hahiroth, they had been feasting and had kept the Sabbaths of Unleavened Bread. Now they are very afraid, and not wanting to fight. Moses tells them they won’t have to lift a finger in defense. (Exodus 14:13-14 and Jasher 81:28, 32)

And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of YHUH, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. YHUH shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. Exodus 14:13-14
And Moses said to them, Fear not, stand still and see the salvation of YHUH which He will effect this day for you. Jasher 81:28
And Moses said to them, Stand in your places, for YHUH will fight for you, and you shall remain silent. Jasher 81:32
I don’t see how Israel could have camped at all 3 places, stopping to bake unleavened bread (Exodus 12:39) before crossing the sea, if they crossed on the 16th, the morning after they left Rameses, according to Numbers 33:5-8 and Exodus 13 and 14. The Book of Jubilees tells us when they crossed:

…and the festival of unleavened bread, that they should eat unleavened bread seven days, and that they should observe its festival, and that they bring an oblation every day during those seven days of joy before YHUH on the altar of YHUH your ALMIGHTY. For you celebrated this festival with haste when you went forth from Egypt till you entered into the wilderness of Shur; for on the shore of the sea you completed it. (49:22-23)

So they completed the feast on the shore before they crossed the Sea. I believe that when Miriam led Israel in song and dance with tambourines on the morning of Abib 23, the first day of the week, after the Egyptians were washed away in the Sea, that was symbolic of the wave sheaf offering of barley, as that is the day after the Sabbath AFTER Unleavened Bread. It may have even occurred at the time of the morning sacrifice that day. It could be YHUH commanded the wave sheaf that day to commemorate the crossing of the Sea, and that is how the belief came to be that the wave sheaf was on the day of the Sea crossing! How appropriate!

Conclusion: We have established with more than the required number of witnesses from scripture, that the claim that Israel crossed the Sea on or before the 16th of the first month, is BOGUS! I also believe we have established that a very symbolic, very significant event has taken place on the date that I, Leviticus 23, Exodus 19, Exodus 24, Jasher, and Jubilees, pinpoints for the day the sheaf was waved. If you count 7 sabbaths, 50 days, 7 COMPLETE weeks from the Sea crossing, you come to the date Jubilees and Exodus 19 say Israel entered the covenant with the exchange of the wedding vows, and receiving of the law…on the 16th day of the 3rd month…

In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai. Exodus 19:1

And it came to pass in the first year of the exodus of the children of Israel out of Egypt, in the third month, on the sixteenth day of the month, [2410) Anno Mundi] that Aluhym spake to Moses, saying: ‘Come up to Me on the Mount…” Jubilees 1:1

Isn’t it just beautiful how these numerous witnesses in the Bible, the Book of Jubilees, and the Book of Jasher, all line up in complete agreement, strengthening this testimony, and giving us our 2-3 witnesses required to establish this matter? Many will try to discredit Jubilees and Jasher, because these books testify that some individuals are holding to and teaching false doctrines. They slander the testimony of these books, these books which proclaim the law and the testimony, and prophesy of Messiah Yahusha, just as the Torah does. Let us not listen to false witnesses about these books without hearing the testimony (reading the books) ourselves, and testing it with Torah. Remember, the Bible mentions Jasher more than once. These books also support a lunar Sabbath, just as the Bible does.

And it came to pass when the children of men began to multiply on the face of the earth and daughters were born unto them, that the angels of Elohim saw them on a certain year of this jubilee, that they were beautiful to look upon; and they took themselves wives of all whom they chose, and they bare unto them sons and they were giants.

 

And lawlessness increased on the earth and all flesh corrupted its way, alike men and cattle and beasts and birds and everything that walks on the earth -all of them corrupted their ways and their orders, and they began to devour each other, and lawlessness increased on the earth and every imagination of the thoughts of all men (was) thus evil continually.

 

And Elohim YaHuWaH (YHWH) looked upon the earth, and behold it was corrupt, and all flesh had corrupted its orders, and all that were upon the earth had wrought all manner of evil before His eyes. And He said that He would destroy man and all flesh upon the face of the earth which He had created. But Noah found grace before the eyes of YaHuWaH (YHWH) .

 

And against the angels whom He had sent upon the earth, He was exceedingly wroth, and He gave commandment to root them out of all their dominion, and He bade us to bind them in the depths of the earth, and behold they are bound in the midst of them, and are (kept) separate. And against their sons went forth a command from before His face that they should be smitten with the sword, and be removed  from under heaven. And He said ’My spirit shall not always abide on man; for they also are flesh and their days shall be one hundred and twenty years’. And He sent His sword into their midst that each should slay his neighbour, and they began to slay each other till they all fell by the sword and were destroyed from the earth.

And YaHuWaH (YHWH)  said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.  But Noah found grace in the eyes of YaHuWaH (YHWH).

 

Genesis 7:11-12 – (KJV)

In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.  And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

And after the lapse of many years, in the four hundred and eightieth year of the life of Noah, when all those men, who followed YaHuWaH (YHWH יהוה) had died away from amongst the sons of men, and only Methuselah was then left, ELOHIM YAHUWAH (YHWH) SAID UNTO NOAH AND METHUSELAH, SAYING, . SPEAK YE, AND PROCLAIM TO THE SONS OF MEN, SAYING, THUS SAITH YAHUWAH (YHWH , RETURN FROM YOUR EVIL WAYS AND FORSAKE YOUR WORKS, AND YAHUWAH (YHWH)  WILL REPENT OF THE EVIL THAT HE DECLARED TO DO TO YOU, SO THAT IT SHALL NOT COME TO PASS.

For thus saith YaHuWaH (YHWH יהוה), Behold I give you a period of one hundred and twenty years; if you will turn to me and forsake your evil ways, then will I also turn away from the evil which I told you, and it shall not exist, saith YaHuWaH (YHWH יהוה).  And Noah and Methuselah spoke all the words of YaHuWaH (YHWH יהוה) to the sons of men, day after day, constantly speaking to them.  BUT THE SONS OF MEN WOULD NOT HEARKEN TO THEM, NOR INCLINE THEIR EARS TO THEIR WORDS, AND THEY WERE STIFFNECKED.

 

And YaHuWaH (YHWH) granted them a period of one hundred and twenty years, saying, If they will return, then will Elohim repent of the evil, so as not to destroy the earth. . Noah the son of Lamech refrained from taking a wife in those days, to beget children, for he said, Surely now Elohim will destroy the earth, wherefore then shall I beget children?

 

AND NOAH WAS A JUST MAN, HE WAS PERFECT IN HIS GENERATION, AND YAHUWAH (YHWH יהוה) CHOSE HIM TO RAISE UP SEED FROM HIS SEED UPON THE FACE OF THE EARTH.

 

In that time, YaHuWaH (YHWH יהוה) said to Noah and Methuselah, Stand forth and proclaim to the sons of men all the words that I spoke to you in those days, peradventure they may turn from their evil ways, and I will then repent of the evil and will not bring it.  And Noah and Methuselah stood forth, and said in the ears of the sons of men, all that Elohim had spoken concerning them.  BUT THE SONS OF MEN WOULD NOT HEARKEN, NEITHER WOULD THEY INCLINE THEIR EARS TO ALL THEIR DECLARATIONS. AND IT WAS AFTER THIS THAT YAHUWAH (YHWH יהוה) SAID TO NOAH, THE END OF ALL FLESH IS COME BEFORE ME, ON ACCOUNT OF THEIR EVIL DEEDS, AND BEHOLD I WILL DESTROY THE EARTH.

 

Book of Jasher Chapter 5:11-12 – Precept

 

And on that day, YaHuWaH (YHWH יהוה) caused the whole earth to shake, and the sun darkened, and the foundations of the world raged, and the whole earth was moved violently, and the lightning flashed, and the thunder roared, and all the fountains in the earth were broken up, such as was not known to the inhabitants before; and Elohim YaHuWaH (YHWH יהוה) did this mighty act, in order to terrify the sons of men, that there might be no more evil upon earth. And still the sons of men would not return from their evil ways, and they increased the anger of YaHuWaH (YHWH יהוה) at that time, and did not even direct their hearts to all this.

 

Book of Jasher Chapter 6:13-23 – Precept

And at the end of seven days, in the six hundredth year of the life of Noah, THE WATERS OF THE FLOOD WERE UPON THE EARTH.  AND ALL THE FOUNTAINS OF THE DEEP WERE BROKEN UP, AND THE WINDOWS OF HEAVEN WERE OPENED, AND THE RAIN WAS UPON THE EARTH FORTY DAYS AND FORTY NIGHTS.

 

And Noah and his household, and all the living creatures that were with him, came into the ark on account of the waters of the flood, and YaHuWaH (YHWH יהוה) shut him in.  And all the sons of men that were left upon the earth, became exhausted through evil on account of the rain, for the waters were coming more violently upon the earth, and the animals and beasts were still surrounding the ark.

 

And the sons of men assembled together, about seven hundred thousand men and women, and they came unto Noah to the ark.  And they called to Noah, saying, Open for us that we may come to thee in the ark—and wherefore shall we die?  And Noah, with a loud voice, answered them from the ark, saying, HAVE YOU NOT ALL REBELLED AGAINST YAHUWAH (YHWH יהוה), AND SAID THAT HE DOES NOT EXIST? AND THEREFORE YAHUWAH (YHWH יהוה) BROUGHT UPON YOU THIS EVIL, TO DESTROY AND CUT YOU OFF FROM THE FACE OF THE EARTH.  IS NOT THIS THE THING THAT I SPOKE TO YOU OF ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY YEARS BACK, AND YOU WOULD NOT HEARKEN TO THE VOICE OF YAHUWAH (YHWH יהוה), AND NOW DO YOU DESIRE TO LIVE UPON EARTH?

 

And they said to Noah, We are ready to return to YaHuWaH (YHWH יהוה); only open for us that we may live and not die.  And Noah answered them, saying, BEHOLD NOW THAT YOU SEE THE TROUBLE OF YOUR SOULS, YOU WISH TO RETURN TO YAHUWAH (YHWH יהוה); WHY DID YOU NOT RETURN DURING THESE HUNDRED AND TWENTY YEARS, WHICH YAHUWAH (YHWH יהוה) GRANTED YOU AS THE DETERMINED PERIOD?

 

But now you come and tell me this on account of the troubles of your souls, now also YaHuWaH (YHWH) WILL NOT LISTEN TO YOU, NEITHER WILL HE GIVE EAR TO YOU ON THIS DAY, so that you will not now succeed in your wishes.

 

Continuing to the book of Jubilees

 

 

And their fathers were witnesses (of their destruction), and after this they were bound in the depths of the earth for ever, until the day of the great condemnation, when judgment is executed on all those who have corrupted their ways and their works before YaHuWaH (YHWH יהוה). And He destroyed all from their places, and there was not left one of them whom He judged not according to all their wickedness. And he made for all his works a new and righteous nature, so that they should not sin in their whole nature for ever, but should be all righteous each in his kind alway. And the judgment of all is ordained and written on the heavenly tablets in righteousness -even (the judgment of) all who depart from the path which is ordained for them to walk in; and if they walk not therein, judgment is written down for every creature and for every kind. And there is nothing in heaven or on earth, or in light or in darkness, or in Sheol or in the depth, or in the place of darkness (which is not judged); and all their judgments are ordained and written and engraved.

 

In regard to all He will judge,the great according to his greatness, and the small according to his smallness, and each according to his way. And He is not one who will regard the person (of any), nor is He one who will receive gifts, if He says that He will execute judgment on each: if one gave everything that is on the earth, He will not regard the gifts or the person (of any), nor accept anything at his hands, for He is a righteous judge. [And of the children of Israel it has been written and ordained: If they turn to him in righteousness He will forgive all their transgressions and pardon all their sins. It is written and ordained that He will show mercy to all who turn from all their guilt once each year.] And as for all those who corrupted their ways and their thoughts before the flood, no man’s person was accepted save that of Noah alone; for his person was accepted in behalf of his sons, whom (God) saved from the waters of the flood on his account; for his heart was righteous in all his ways, according as it was commanded regarding him, and he had not departed from aught that was ordained for him.

 

And YaHuWaH (YHWH) said that he would destroy everything which was upon the earth, both men and cattle, and beasts, and fowls of the air, and that which moveth on the earth. And He commanded Noah to make him an ark, that he might save himself from the waters of the flood. And Noah made the ark in all respects as He commanded him, in the twenty-seventh jubilee of years, in the fifth week in the fifth year (on the new moon of the first month). [1307 A.M.] And he entered in the sixth (year) thereof, [1308 A.M.] in the second month, on the new moon of the second month, till the sixteenth; and he entered, and all that we brought to him, into the ark, and YaHuWaH (YHWH) closed it from without on the seventeenth evening.

 

And YaHuWaH (YHWH) opened seven flood-gates of heaven, And the mouths of the fountains of the great deep, seven mouths in number.  And the flood-gates began to pour down water from the heaven forty days and forty nights, And the fountains of the deep also sent up waters, until the whole world was full of water. And the waters increased upon the earth: Fifteen cubits did the waters rise above all the high mountains, And the ark was lift up above the earth, And it moved upon the face of the waters. And the water prevailed on the face of the earth five months -one hundred and fifty days.  And the ark went and rested on the top of Lubar, one of the mountains of Ararat.

 

And (on the new moon) in the fourth month the fountains of the great deep were closed and the flood-gates of heaven were restrained; and on the new moon of the seventh month all the mouths of the abysses of the earth were opened, and the water began to descend into the deep below. And on the new moon of the tenth month the tops of the mountains were seen, and on the new moon of the first month the earth became visible. And the waters disappeared from above the earth in the fifth week in the seventh year [1309 A.M.] thereof, and on the seventeenth day in the second month the earth was dry.  And on the twenty-seventh thereof he opened the ark, and sent forth from it beasts, and cattle, and birds, and every moving thing.

 

The Book of Enoch that explains in detail Book of Jubilees and the witnessing books:

 

VI-XI. The Fall of the Angels: the Demoralization of Mankind: the Intercession of the Angels on behalf of Mankind. The Dooms pronounced by Elohim (אֱלֹהִים) YaHuWaH on the Angels of the Messianic Kingdom– (a Noah fragment).

 

And it came to pass when the children of men had multiplied that in those days were born unto them beautiful and comely daughters. And the angels, the children of the heaven, saw and lusted after them, and said to one another: ‘Come, let us choose us wives from among the children of men and beget us children.’ And Semjâzâ, who was their leader, said unto them: ‘I fear ye will not indeed agree to do this deed, and I alone shall have to pay the penalty of a great sin.’ And they all answered him and said: ‘Let us all swear an oath, and all bind ourselves by mutual imprecations not to abandon this plan but to do this thing.’ Then sware they all together and bound themselves by mutual imprecations upon it. And they were in all two hundred; who descended in the days of Jared on the summit of Mount Hermon, and they called it Mount Hermon, because they had sworn and bound themselves by mutual imprecations upon it. And these are the names of their leaders: Samîazâz, their leader, Arâkîba, Râmêêl, Kôkabîêl, Tâmîêl, Râmîêl, Dânêl, Êzêqêêl, Barâqîjâl, Asâêl, Armârôs, Batârêl, Anânêl, Zaqîêl, Samsâpêêl, Satarêl, Tûrêl, Jômjâêl, Sariêl. These are their chiefs of tens.

 

 

And all the others together with them took unto themselves wives, and each chose for himself one, and they began to go in unto them and to defile themselves with them, and they taught them charms and enchantments, and the cutting of roots, and made them acquainted with plants. And they became pregnant, and they bare great giants, whose height was three thousand ells: Who consumed all the acquisitions of men. And when men could no longer sustain them, the giants turned against them and devoured mankind. And they began to sin against birds, and beasts, and reptiles, and fish, and to devour one another’s flesh, and drink the blood. Then the earth laid accusation against the lawless ones.

 

And Azâzêl taught men to make swords, and knives, and shields, and breastplates, and made known to them the metals of the earth and the art of working them, and bracelets, and ornaments, and the use of antimony, and the beautifying of the eyelids, and all kinds of costly stones, and all colouring tinctures. And there arose much godlessness, and they committed fornication, and they were led astray, and became corrupt in all their ways. Semjâzâ taught enchantments, and root-cuttings, ‘Armârôs the resolving of enchantments, Barâqîjâl (taught) astrology, Kôkabêl the constellations, Êzêqêêl the knowledge of the clouds, Araqiêl the signs of the earth, Shamsiêl the signs of the sun, and Sariêl the course of the moon. And as men perished, they cried, and their cry went up to heaven…

 

And then Michael, Uriel, Raphael, and Gabriel looked down from heaven and saw much blood being shed upon the earth, and all lawlessness being wrought upon the earth. And they said one to another: ‘The earth made without inhabitant cries the voice of their cryingst up to the gates of heaven. And now to you, the holy ones of heaven, the souls of men make their suit, saying, “Bring our cause before the Most High.”‘ And they said to (יהוה) YaHuWaH  of the ages: ‘Lord of lords, Elohim (אֱלֹהִים) God of gods, King of kings, and Elohim (אֱלֹהִים) God of the ages, the throne of Thy glory (standeth) unto all the generations of the ages, and Thy name holy and glorious and blessed unto all the ages! Thou hast made all things, and power over all things hast Thou: and all things are naked and open in Thy sight, and Thou seest all things, and nothing can hide itself from Thee. Thou seest what Azâzêl hath done, who hath taught all unrighteousness on earth and revealed the eternal secrets which were (preserved) in heaven, which men were striving to learn: And Semjâzâ, to whom Thou hast given authority to bear rule over his associates. AND THEY HAVE GONE TO THE DAUGHTERS OF MEN UPON THE EARTH, AND HAVE SLEPT WITH THE WOMEN, AND HAVE DEFILED THEMSELVES, AND REVEALED TO THEM ALL KINDS OF SINS. AND THE WOMEN HAVE BORNE GIANTS, AND THE WHOLE EARTH HAS THEREBY BEEN FILLED WITH BLOOD AND UNRIGHTEOUSNESS.

 

And now, behold, the souls of those who have died are crying and making their suit to the gates of heaven, and their lamentations have ascended: and cannot cease because of the lawless deeds which are 11 wrought on the earth. And Thou knowest all things before they come to pass, and Thou seest these things and Thou dost suffer them, and Thou dost not say to us what we are to do to them in regard to these.’ Then said the Most High, the Holy and Great One spake, and sent Uriel to the son of Lamech, and said to him: ‘Go to Noah and tell him in my name “Hide thyself!” and reveal to him the end that is approaching: that the whole earth will be destroyed, and a deluge is about to come upon the whole earth, and will destroy all that is on it.

 

And now instruct him that he may escape and his seed may be preserved for all the generations of the world.’ And again (יהוה) YaHuWaH  said to Raphael: ‘Bind Azâzêl hand and foot, and cast him into the darkness: and make an opening in the desert, which is in Dûdâêl, and cast him therein. And place upon him rough and jagged rocks, and cover him with darkness, and let him abide there for ever, and cover his face that he may 6,7 not see light. And on the day of the great judgement he shall be cast into the fire. And heal the earth which the angels have corrupted, and proclaim the healing of the earth, that they may heal the plague, and that all the children of men may not perish through all the secret things that the Watchers have disclosed and have taught their sons. And the whole earth has been corrupted through the works that were taught by Azâzêl: to him ascribe all sin.’

 

And to Gabriel said YaHuWaH : ‘Proceed against the bastards and the reprobates, and against the children of fornication: and destroy [the children of fornication and] the children of the Watchers from amongst men [and cause them to go forth]: send them one against the other that they may destroy each other in battle: for length of days shall they not have. And no request that they (i.e. their fathers) make of thee shall be granted unto their fathers on their behalf; for they hope to live an eternal life, and that each one of them will live five hundred years.’ And YaHuWaH  said unto Michael: ‘Go, bind Semjâzâ and his associates who have united themselves with women so as to have defiled themselves with them in all their uncleanness. And when their sons have slain one another, and they have seen the destruction of their beloved ones, bind them fast for seventy generations in the valleys of the earth, till the day of their judgment and of their consummation, till the judgment that is for ever and ever is consummated.

 

In those days they shall be led off to the abyss of fire: and to the torment and the prison in which they shall be confined for ever. And whosoever shall be condemned and destroyed will from thenceforth be bound together with them to the end of all generations. And destroy all the spirits of the reprobate and the children of the Watchers, because they have wronged mankind. Destroy all wrong from the face of the earth and let every evil work come to an end: and let the plant of righteousness and truth appear: and it shall prove a blessing; the works of righteousness and truth’ shall be planted in truth and joy for evermore.

 

And then shall all the righteous escape, And shall live till they beget thousands of children, And all the days of their youth and their old age Shall they complete in peace. And then shall the whole earth be tilled in righteousness, and shall all be planted with trees and be full of blessing.

 

And all desirable trees shall be planted on it, and they shall plant vines on it: and the vine which they plant thereon shall yield wine in abundance, and as for all the seed which is sown thereon each measure (of it) shall bear a thousand, and each measure of olives shall yield ten presses of oil. And cleanse thou the earth from all oppression, and from all unrighteousness, and from all sin, and from all godlessness: and all the uncleanness that is wrought upon the earth destroy from off the earth. And all the children of men shall become righteous, and all nations shall offer adoration and shall praise Me, and all shall worship Me. And the earth shall be cleansed from all defilement, and from all sin, and from all punishment, and from all torment, and I will never again send (them) upon it from generation to generation and for ever.

 

And in those days I will open the store chambers of blessing which are in the heaven, so as to send them down upon the earth over the work and labour of the children of men. And truth and peace shall be associated together throughout all the days of the world and throughout all the generations of men.’

New moon day in Enoch

Has anyone else ever noticed this? I was looking in Enoch. In the version I am reading it is Chapter 73.

I’ve been reading how this book (from chapter 71) and how it talks about a 30 day lunar month. This makes sense to me so far. But I noticed this in 73:14:

To the moon alone belong in three years, one thousand and sixty two days; …. in five years there are one thousand seven hundred and seventy days; and days of the moon in eight years are two thousand eight hundred and thirty two days.

To clarify, the book thus far has looked at a solar year and has placed it at 364 days. It has now turned to look at the lunar year which is 354 days. This is seen in Enoch 73:14 as follows:

1062/3 = 354 days
1770/5 = 354 days
2832/8 = 354 days

354 / 12 = 29.5 days per lunar month

It should be noted that these books thus far are speaking of two seperate years. One Solar, and one Lunar. They are not speaking of a scriptural year as one book tells you the year is 364 days and the other tells you year is 354 days, but the difference is one is speaking of the sun and the other is speaking of the moon.

The scriptural calendar is different in that it uses BOTH, the sun and the moon, thus we see specific elements of both calendars in the calendar of scripture.

This chapter also compares the cycles of the sun with that of the moon and it points out that “the moon has thirty days less than the sun and the stars” and that “there is an excess of thirty days belonging to the sun in five years”. (Verse 11 and 12).

The Book of Enoch:

Yeah. I’m not the quickest reading this book. It’s not the easiest to read AND understand. I can see how if one reads just a section of this book, you could be misled.

I was reading through Enoch 77 which is an interesting chapter as it breaks down the way in which light is used upon the surface of the moon. I thought I might share some observations.

1. Verse 5 says “When the moon rises, it appears in heaven; and the half of a seventh portion of light is all in it.”

After 7 days the light which is in the moon will consume half of it. This is confirmed by the next verse (point 2).

2. Verse 6 says “In fourteen, the whole light is completed.”

It has been interesting to note, (as I have been using the first visible crescent – but have been using the day following the sighting of the crescent as New Moon day), that the method I have been using always seem to place the Light of the full moon one full day before the Sabbath.

If I were using the calendar as the book of Enoch speaks of it, the sign of the full moon would arrive upon the 14th, which would seem to fit what the scriptures say, having the whole light completed upon this day. This would mean that the day which the first visible crescent is seen in the evening, becomes new moon day – the first day if the month. This is confirmed in verse 14 – 16….

3. In verse 14-16 it says:

14 And when it is wholly extinguished its light is consumed in heaven; and on the first day it is called the new moon, for on that day light is received into it.

15 It becomes precisely completed on the day that the sun descends into the west while the moon ascends at night from the east.

16 The moon then shines all the night, until the sun rises before it; when the moon disappears in turn before the sun.

New Moon day is the day which the light is received into it, not the day after.

Verse 19 to 20 also confirm the time period being 29.5 days

19 During three months it effects in thirty days its period and during three months it effects 29 days each, in which it effects its decrease in its first period an, and in the first gate, in one hundred and seventy seven days.
20 And at the time of its going forth during three months it appears thirty days each, and during three months it appears 29 days each.

177/6 = 29.5 days

The other thing, which I pray that some of my “full moon” friends see, is that these chapters in Enoch seem to agree with what we see in scripture. Cindy Williams Andrew Ellis

We see the New Moon, we see the first Sabbath, we see the second Sabbath (for it has the most light upon it – which is also reflected in the book of Enoch) and we see the third Sabbath.

If we use the book of Enoch for understanding the day which we would call New moon day is the day which the the first visible crescent is seen in the evening.

This Light would agree with the Light we see in the scriptures placing the full moon upon the eve of the 14th.

Lots to learn. Lots to unlearn.

The hidden day

Some use the Gregorian calendar and place is every seven days. Some use conjunction, where the new moon is not seen and say it is that day. Some use conjunction and say it is the following day.

Others like myself, use the new moon and use it as a sign. New Moon day is always the following day (as that is what a sign is for, to announce something coming, not to tell you something just happened wink emoticon ).

When it comes to signs, I like to think of it as driving down the road. When driving I see signs along the side of the road. The signs tell me of things approaching. For example a school zone may be coming up, or perhaps the speed limit is about to change, or perhaps it is a give way sign telling me to look out for oncoming traffic. A sign is always something you see, and then the event occurs.

When we read in Genesis 1:14 it says

14 Then Elohim said, “Let there be light-bearers (sun, moon, stars) in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be useful for SIGNS, and for marking seasons, days, and years;

So in order for it to be a sign, it must be seen. Think of His rainbow. It is seen. He put in in the sky to remind us of what would never occur again. He said He would never again kill all mankind with a flood, and He has kept His word going forward.

So it all depends upon the method you use.

Using the image attached, I can see the UK would have seen the moon upon January 11, which was Monday upon the Gregorian calendar. It is the same as Australia. This was when the sign was given, in the afternoon of Monday the 11th just after sunset.

If you lived in parts of Africa for example, the sign was given a Gregorian day before – On Sunday the 10th.

So if the sign was given in the UK on the Gregorian Monday the 11th in the evening, and YHWH gives us signs to warn us of events about to take place, then New Moon day started for You and I in the morning upon the Gregorian day of Tuesday the 12th.

You may have never considered this, but are you aware that we never actually see the fourth Sabbath in the scripture? Did you notice that YHWH never mentions it, even though we know it exists? Did you know that there is light shone upon New Moon day, the day right after this Sabbath? Did you know that there is light also shone upon the first Sabbath and that there is an enormous amount of light sone upon His second Sabbath? Did you also know that the third Sabbath also has light upon it? We see each of these events for if His scriptures are His Light, He shines His light upon these events. There is no light upon the fourth Sabbath, hence why if you have light from the moon, upon your fourth Sabbath, something is not lining up with what He taught us.

And therein is what so many people do not see. If you line up His calendar this way, You are shining His light upon the whole calendar and in that sense the Fourth Sabbath has light upon it. Not direct light, for the light is hidden, and many will not see it.

Isaiah 9:2
“The people who walked in darkness,
Have seen a great light;
Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow if death,
Upon them light has shined.”

John 3:17-21

17 For YHWH did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of YHWH. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in YHWH.”

Pagan Names

A “sin” that the greatest majority of otherwise sincere people do not realize they are committing on a daily basis is calling on the names of pagan deities when they say anything about any day of the week using the secular weekday names. Scripture does NOT name the days, but calls them in the order of their sequence during the Creation. Yahuwah had some things to say about that practice, and those things do not bode well for those guilty of it.

    Howshea’ (Hosea) 2:16-17 And it will be in that day,” says Yahuwah, “you will call Me ‘My Husband’ and no longer call Me ‘My Lord’ and I will take from her mouth the names of the pagan deities and they will not be remembered by their name anymore.
    Shemot (Exodus) 23:13 And in all that I have said to you give heed and make no mention of the name of other elohiym nor let it be heard from your mouth.

Below are the secular calendar names of the days. Take note that each and every one of them is derived from and/or dedicated to a pagan deity. This ought not to be in a world that claims to followers of Yahuwah and His Son Yahushua.

Keep in mind that the secular calendar has the days of the week starting at midnight, while scripture has them starting at sunrise.

1. Sunday (day of the sun) is the first day of the week. Its English name and its German name (Sonntag) are derived from the Latindies solis, “sun’s day,” the name of a pagan Rhomaios (Roman) holiday. Sunday is called the Lord’s Day (Dominica in the Latin version) and in Romance languages (French Dimanche; Italian Domenica; Spanish Domingo; Rhomaios Duminica). Sunday was instituted as a day of rest for the Rhomaios Empire, NOT Christians who still observed the seventh day shabbath at that time, by the Rhomaios emperor Constantine the Great. Since the 4th century, ecclesiastical and civil legislation controlled by the Rhomaios Catholic Church has frequently regulated work on Sunday and service attendance. It is called yom echad in Ibriy (Hebrew), meaning “first day” or “day one.”

2. Monday (day of the moon) is the second day of the week, derived from the Anglo-Saxon monandaeg, which means “the moon’s day.” Its Latin equivalent is dies lunae, or “day of the moon.” For the Anglo-Saxons the second day was sacred to the female deity of the moon. It is called yom sheniy in Ibriy, meaning “second day” or “day two.”

3. Tuesday (Tyr’s day) is the third day of the week, named for the Norse god of war, Tiu, or Tyr, the son of Odin, or Woden. It is called tisdag in Sweden, Tirsdag in Denmark. The Rhomaios honored their god of war, Mars, by naming the third day for him (dies Martis), and in France the day is mardi, in Italy martedì, and in Spain martes. In Germany it is Dienstag, originally meaning “assembly day.” It is called yom shlishiy in Ibriy, meaning “third day” or “day three.”

4. Wednesday (Woden’s day) is the fourth day of the week, named to honor Odin, or Woden, chief deity in Norse mythology. In Sweden and Denmark, the day is Onsdag, from its Norse original. The Rhomaios honored their deity Mercury by naming the fourth day for him, in Latin, dies Mercurii. Languages of Latin origin retain the root: French, mercredi; Spanish, miércoles; and Italian, mercoledì. The Germans call the day Mittwoch, meaning “mid-week.” It is called yom rebiy`iy in Ibriy, meaning “fourth day” or “day four.”

5. Thursday (Thor’s day) is named for Thor who in Norse mythology is the deity of thunder, eldest son of Odin, ruler of the gods, and Jord, the earth female deity. Thor was the strongest of the Aesir, the chief deities, whom he helped protect from their enemies, the giants. He had a magic hammer, which he threw with the aid of iron gloves and which always returned to him. Thunder was supposed to be the sound of the rolling of his chariot. It is called yom chamiyshiy in Ibriy, meaning “fifth day” or “day five.”

6. Friday (Frigg’s day) is named for Frigg or Frigga who in Norse mythology is the female deity of the sky and wife of Odin, the chief of the deities. She was worshipped as the female deity of darkness, who killed Balder with a mistletoe sprig. In German mythology, Frigg was sometimes identified with Frevia, the female deity of love. It is called yom shishshiy in Ibriy, meaning “sixth day” or “day six.”

7. Saturday (Saturn’s day) is the seventh day of the week, named in honor of the Rhomaios deity Saturn. In Latin, Saturday was called dies Saturni; it was called Sater-daeg by the Anglo-Saxons.

1. January – derived from the Latin Januarius which in turn is derived from the Rhomaios (Roman) deity of portals and patron of beginnings and endingsJanus, to whom this month was sacred. He is shown as having two faces, one in front, the other at the back of his head, supposedly to symbolize his powers.

With the exception of islamic states and other scattered pagan tribes, most of the world uses the Gregorian calendar, named for the Rhomaios Catholic pope Gregory III who invented it, and it has “January” as the first month of the year. Rhomaios legend has it that the ruler Numa Pompilius added January and February to the end of the 10-month Rhomaios calendar in about 700 BCE. Pompilius gave the month 30 days. Rhomaios later made “January” the first month. In 46 BCE, the Rhomaios statesman Julius Kaisar (Caesar) added a day to “January” making it 31 days long. The Anglo-Saxons called the first month “Wolfmonth” because wolves came into their villages in winter in search of food in that period.

2. February – derived from Februa, a Rhomaios festival of purification. It was originally the month of expiation.

February is the shortest month of the Gregorian calendar year. February had 28 days until Julius Kaisar gave it 29, and 30 days every four years. According to tradition Augustus, the Rhomaios emperor, took one day off to add one day to August, the month named after him, so it would be equal to July. We now have February with 28 days and 29 on leap years.

3. March – named for Mars, the Rhomaios deity of war.

March is the third month of Georgian calendar. According to the early Rhomaios calendar, it was the first month and was calledMartius. The ancient Rhomaios later made January 1 the beginning of the year, which pushed March to the third month on the calendar. March has always had 31 days. Its name honors Mars, the Rhomaios deity of war.

4. April – derived from the Latin APRILIS, indicating a time of Fertility. It was believed that this month is the month when the earth was supposed to open up for the plants to grow.

April was the second month in an early Rhomaios calendar but became the fourth when the ancient Rhomaios started using January as the first month. The Rhomaios called the month Aprilis. It may come from a word meaning ‘to open’, or it may come from Aphrodite, the Greek name for the female deity of love.

5. May – named for Maia, the Rhomaios female deity of growth or increase.

According to the early Roman calendar, May was the third month. Later, the ancient Rhomaios used January 1 for the beginning of their year and May became the fifth month. May has always had 31 days.

Several stories are passed around to show how the month of May was named. The most widely accepted explanation is that it was named for Maia, the Rhomaios female deity of spring and growth. Her name related to a Latin word that means increase or growth.

6. June – this name is sometimes attributed to JUNO, the female deity of marriage, the wife of Jupiter in Rhomaios mythology. She was also called the “Queen of Heaven” and “Queen of Mighty Ones.” The name of this month is also attributed to Junius Brutus, but originally it most probably referred to the month in which crops grow to ripeness.

June is the sixth month on the Georgian calendar. On the Rhomaios calendar it was considered the fourth month and had only 29 days. Julius Kaisar gave the month 30 days in 46 BCE when he reformed the Rhomaios calendar.

As you can see from the above, the first six months are named for some pagan deity and Yahuwah told us He did not want to hear those names come from our mouths.

RNV Shemot (Exodus) 23:13 And in all that I have said to you give heed and make no mention of the name of other elohiym nor let it be heard from your mouth.

All of the remaining names are either from some person, notably two of the kaisars of Rhomaios, and the rest are Latin numbers.

7. July – named for the Rhomaios emperor Julius Kaisar.

July is the seventh month on the Gregorian calendar. On the Rhomaios calendar it was the fifth month and it was called Quintilis’, meaning fifth. Julius Kaisar gave the month 31 days in 46 BCE. The Roman Senate named it ‘Julius’, in honor of Kaisar.

8. August – named for Octavius Augustus Kaisar, emperor of Rhomaios. The name was originally from Iaugure which means to increase.

August is the eighth month on the Gregorian calendar, renamed by the Rhomaios from Sextilis, meaning sixth, to honor their emperor, Augustus.

9. September – derived from the Latin septem, meaning seven.

September is the ninth month on the Gregorian calendar. But on the Rhomaios calendar it was the seventh month. September has had 29 days and 31 days but since the time of the emperor Augustus it has had only 30 days.

10. October – derived from the Latin root octo, meaning eight.

October is the tenth month of the year on the Gregorian calendar. October was the 8th month in the early Rhomaios calendar. October has had 31 days since the time of the Rhomaios emperor Augustus.

11. November – derived from Latin novem, meaning ninth.

November is the eleventh month of the year on the Gregorian calendar. In the early Rhomaios calendar it was the ninth month. The Rhomaios Senate elected to name the eleventh month for Tiberus Kaisar and since Augustus’ time it has had only 30 days. Originally, there were 30 days, then 29, then 31.

The Anglo-Saxons referred to November as the ‘wind month’ and the ‘blood month’ – probably because this is the month they killed their animals for food.

12. December – derived from the Latin decem, meaning ten.

December is the twelfth and last month of the year according to the Gregorian calendar. It was the tenth month in the early Rhomaios calendar. It became the twelfth month in a later Rhomaios calendar. Until 46 BCE December only had 29 days but the Rhomaios statesman Julius Kaisar added two days to December which made it 31 days.
